After the eSIM profile is installed, most customers must adjust two settings before mobile data works abroad.

These are often one-time steps per trip or per install.
Step 1: Set the eSIM as your mobile data line
iPhone
Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data)
Tap Cellular Data / Mobile Data at the top
Select your PEXX eSIM line
Android
Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs (or Connections > SIM Manager)
Under Preferred SIM for mobile data, choose the PEXX eSIM
Step 2: Enable data roaming
Roaming must usually be on for the PEXX eSIM so the phone may attach abroad.
iPhone
Settings > Cellular → select the PEXX eSIM line
Turn Data Roaming ON
Android
Open the same SIM's settings
Enable Roaming / Data Roaming (wording varies)
Will this cost extra? Roaming charges, if any, are governed by your PEXX plan, not by this toggle alone. The toggle only allows the radio to connect on partner networks. Check PEXX for what is included.
Step 3: Verify the connection
Airplane Mode ON for ~10 seconds, then OFF
Wait up to ~30–60 seconds
Try loading a website or app
If you see a carrier name in the status bar and data loads, you are on the right track.
Keep your regular SIM for calls (optional)
If you use two lines, keep calls/SMS on your usual SIM if that is your preference, while mobile data uses the PEXX eSIM line.
